Student lunches paid by USDA
Cottonwood School District #242 would like to share some good news for our kids and families. The USDA has extended the Free Meals for Kids through December 31, 2020. As a result, ALL school meals for ALL students will be free of charge for the next few months. The flexibilities will allow our lunch program operators to serve free meals to all children into the fall months until December 31, 2020. Free lunches will begin Oct 1st in our district.  This unprecedented move will help ensure that children have access to nutritious food at no cost as the country recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.
If you have prepaid for lunches, we can hold that until these free meals expire on December 31st at which point we will begin charging again for the price of your child’s lunches whether it be free, reduced, or full-price.
If you have any questions, please call me at the Elementary Office at 208-962-3521
