Cross Country
We have the results from the Spartan Invite now plus the Prairie Cross Country team competed at the Inland Empire Challenge at Lewiston Saturday, Oct. 3.
Spartan Invite
Top 10 finishers each earned medals at the Spartan Invite at Deyo Reservoir near Weippe.
For the High School Boys team Tyler Wemhoff earned a medal by finishing 6th in 21:04. The team placed 3rd with 57 points.
Also for the boys Zach Rambo finished 18th in 23:39. Lee Forsmann was 21st in 24:55. Justin Lockett was 25th in 26:52. Blake Uptmor was 26th in 26:53. Morgan Poxleitner was 28th in 31:37 and Zane Uptmor was 29th in 33:20.
For the High School Girls team Elizabeth Severns finished 10th to earn a medal with a time of 27:02. Kerri Villamor just missed a medal as she placed 11th in 27:37. Mattie Lustig was 14th in 28:58. Leann Lightfield was 16th in 30:22 and Katteri Duman was 17th in 31:12. As a team the girls placed 1st as the only team with at least 5 members in attendance earning a team award.
For the Junior High boys Kaden Duclos finished 9th to earn a medal in 13;22. Cole Duclos was 11th in 13:45. Ben Secrest was 16th in 15:04. Jackson Enneking was 22nd in 20:31.
For the Junior High Girls Rebecca Seubert and Ashlyn North both earned medals. Seubert was 3rd in 13:58 and North was 9th in 15:48. Also Alaina Lustig was 14th in 17:10; Morgan pack was 17th in 17:33 and Clarise Rehder was 18th in 18:22. As a team the girls placed 2nd out of 3 teams with 45 points.
Inland Empire Challenge
The Inland Empire Challenge in Lewiston is the only meet all year where Prairie competed with schools other than just White Pine League schools.
The high school runners competed in the JV races both for the competition level and the fact that many of the runners were part of a wedding that afternoon in Cottonwood.
Prairie’s top finisher on the day was Kyleigh Duclos who placed 8th in the high school girls JV race in 24:24.1. She would have placed 49th in the varsity race. As a team Prairie was 4th in the JV race. Leann Lightfield was 15th in 25:24.1. Kerri Villamor was 22nd in 26:11.2. Katteri Duman was 27th in 27:09.1 and Mattie Lustig was 29th in 27:11.1. Elizabeth Severns started the race but had to drop out due to injury.
Tyler Wemhoff was the top high school boys finisher in 36th place with a time of 20:25.1 Prairie finished 8th as a team. Zach Rambo finished 55th in 21:23.1. Lee Forsmann finished 77th in 23:25.1. Justin Lockett finished 80th in 23:44.1. Blake Uptmor finished 86th in 24:37.1. Morgan Poxleitner finished 93rd in 28:06.1 and Zane Uptmor was 94th in 28:46.1
In the junior high boys race Kaden Duclos was Prairie’s top finisher in 13th place with a time of 10:21.1. Cole Duclos was 21st in 10:58.1. Ben Secrest was 27th in 11:29.1 and Jackson Enneking was 42nd in 14:08.1.
The Junior high girls were missing a couple of runners so they were unable to record a team score. Ashlyn North was their top finisher in 20th place with a time of 12:02.1. Alaina Lustig was 32nd in 13:36.1. Morgan Pack was 33rd in 14:18.1 and Harlee Brannan was 35thin 15:07.1 Brannan is new to the team and was in her first race.
