Letters to the editor from this week's Chronicle

One claim made by civil authorities throughout the coronavirus “pandemic” is that masking, social distancing and lockdowns will continue until a vaccine has been developed. We have been assured that when a vaccine is ready to go, we can get back to normal. Once again we have been had.
The primary USA companies developing a COVID-19 vaccine are, Moderna, Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson. The vaccine protocols for each company reveal that none of them are producing a vaccine designed to prevent infection. Indeed, the trials are not even set up to test whether the vaccine provides immunity from SARS CoV 2 infection (Norris, https://blog.argonautcapital.co.uk/articles/2020/10/22/dud-covid-vaccines-are-no-silver- flowthat is not in a treatise ofbullet/). As Maria Bottazzi, “a vaccinologist at the Baylor College of medicine in Houston” has said, “people would still need to wear masks and practice social distancing to help keep the virus from spreading” (Cunningham,  https://www.sciencenews.org/article/coronavirus-what-does-covid-19-vaccine-efficacy-mean). In fact, as Norris speculates, “there is a possibility that fears of overconfidence amongst the healthy inoculated population might provide justification for more stringent lockdowns.”
According to the protocols published by the four pharmaceutical companies, the best outcome we can hope for from the COVID-19 vaccine is a moderation of common cold symptoms among those infected with the SARS CoV 2. As reported in The British Medical Journal, “none of the trials currently underway are designed to detect a reduction in any serious outcome such as hospital admissions, use of intensive care, or deaths. Nor are the vaccines being studied to determine whether they can interrupt transmission of the virus” (BMJ, https://www.bmj.com/content/bmj/371/bmj.m4037.full.pdf). In other words, the vaccines under development will not make any appreciable difference in the course of events – except to earn the vaccine manufacturers billions of dollars. In short, there is no vaccine on the horizon that will change the course of events.
It’s clear there is little of the accepted narrative about the COVID-19 we can believe. Defend yourself against coronavirus deception: read, research, think. It’s time to stop the madness.

Redneck Review!
No. 288 - 11/2/2020
FREEDOM!  What is it?  What does it mean to you and me?  What did it mean to William Wallace of Scotland, played by Mel Gibson in BRAVEHEART, who launched a rebellion against England because of treatment and death of his wife. You hear "FREEDOM!" all through the movie, again at the end, when Wallace is tortured to death for his uprising!
What did it mean to Patrick Henry prior to the Revolutionary War, famous for: "I know not what course others may take, but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!" What about Thomas Paine: "Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigues of supporting it."  Or Sam Adams: "If ye love wealth better than liberty...of servitude better than freedom, go home... Crouch down and lick the hands that feed you. May your chains be lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen."  What about Ben Franklin: "Whoever would overthrow the liberty of a nation must  begin by subduing the freedom of speech."  Finally: John Adams:  "A Constitution of Government once changed from Freedom, can never be restored.  Liberty, once lost, is lost forever."
Why this current interest in Freedom?  In the mind of this author, FREEDOM is and should be a very key issue today!  The continued threat of the Corona virus, coupled with the fact of our election this week make this word a vital one in our lives tomorrow and in the future!
Everyday and in every way, each of us is faced with a question of freedom!  In this land of the free, the burning question is:  Can we as individual citizens choose for ourselves or must we be forced into doing the bidding of others, whether that be either of the men selected for our president this week, or our state governors, our church officials, or maybe just the pressure of public opinion or of being "political incorrect?"
Take sports for example, be it at the high school, college, or even the professional level.  Why, am I forced to ask, should the decision to play or not to play, compete or not, or attend as a spectator or not, be left to government or committee, rather than the people directly involved? Why does it not make more sense to leave it up to the individuals involved?
Why not let each individual choose to participate or not, to wear or not wear a mask, to meet with friends and companions, or to observe strict social distancing? All life involves decisions between safety and risky "life goes on activities!" Consider the free choices of race car drivers WHO CHOOSE to drive at reckless speeds, leading to accidents or even death. Or of soldiers, like Navy Seals, WHO CHOOSE to risk their lives for higher causes, again often losing those lives because of their choices. Now it is quickly admitted here that such decisions would better be made if governed by the teachings of our Lord Jesus, whose great Commandment was:  "Love God... and neighbor as yourself!" And also admit that true freedom is "The right to do what you ought to do, not what you want to do."  But still, FREEDOM IS THE KEY!
But what is the sense of huge stadiums or high school gyms being denied fans who choose tofollow the team of their choice?  After all, despite the consistent displaying of huge head lines blaring "More Corona Spikes," the facts prove that the death ratio is not only small, but still is going down! Do the math! We make a huge scary boogeyman out of this Corona, when other causes of death and illness loom around us and in many cases are far more serious! But still, seemingly of small concern to the public!  Frankly, it makes no sense at all to this writer! And it is bluntly claimed here, that we are losing far more by lock downs and regulations, and the consequent loss of freedom than we are gaining by our fear of this Corona!
