ST. JOHN BOSCO ACADEMY BOYS BASKETBALL SCHEDULE FOR 2020-21
The St. John Bosco Patriots started their first varsity boys season since 2016 with a pair of losses. On Tuesday, Dec. 8 they hosted Highland and lost 40-69. On Thursday, Dec. 10 they traveled to Deary and lost 45-75. Vs. Highland
The game against Highland started well as the Patriots held a 9-3 lead at the end of the first quarter.Things changed in the second quarter through and Highland outscored the Patriots 10-28 to take a 19-31 halftime lead. Highland kept it up in the second half, outscoring Bosco 11-17 in the third quarter and 10-21 in the fourth. Clay Weckman was the Patriots leading scorer with 9 points with Dustin Kaschmitter scoring 8. The game at Deary saw the Mustangs
jump on the Patriots from the get-go as Deary took a 10-24 lead by the
end of the first quarter. The Mustangs led 20-46 at the half.The second half was closer as the Mustangs added just 4 more points to their lead, outscoring Bosco 12-13 in the third and 13-16 in the fourth. Cody Wassmuth led the Patriots in scoring with 15 points while Clay Weckman with 11 and Chmelik with 10 were also in double figures. Levi Wassmuth scored 5 points and Stubbers scored 4.
