Patriots lose twice
St. John Bosco’s losing string continued this past week as they lost a pair of league games. On Tuesday, Jan. 12 they lost at Highland by a score of 43-58. On Thursday, Jan. 14 they hosted Deary and lost 37-77.
At Highland
The Patriots got off to a good start at Highland as they led 12-10 at the end of the first quarter. Things turned around in the second though as Highland took a 21-24 lead by halftime.
Highland poured it on in the third quarter, outscoring the Patriots 7-24 for a 28-48 lead.
The Patriots managed to close the final margin to 15 by outscoring the Huskies 15-10 in the fourth quarter.
Torry Chmelik led the Patriots in scoring with 14 points. Cody Wassmuth and Dustin Kaschmitter each scored 6. Clay Weckman scored 5. Levi Wassmuth scored 4. Mattheu Warren and Wyatt Weckman each scored 3 and Stallone Hoene scored 2.
Highland was led in scoring by Lane Wassmuth with 21 points. He is the brother of Bosco’s Cody Wassmuth.

Vs. Deary
In the home game against Deary, the Mustangs jumped all over Bosco from the start as they took a 12-25 lead by the end of the first quarter.
The Patriots played almost even in the second quarter as Deary added just 1 point to their lead by halftime, outscoring Bosco 14-15.
The second half was all Deary though as they outscored the Patriots 5-19 in the third quarter and 6-18 in the fourth.
Clay Weckman led the Patriots in scoring with 12 points. Cody Wassmuth scored 9 while Chmelik and Kaschmitter each scored 6. Warren and Luke Stubbers each scored 2.
The Patriots are now 0-8 on the season and 0-6 in league play.
