Prairie hosts another meet
The Prairie Track team hosted their second meet of the season on Thursday, April 29, and then traveled to Lapwai for the Central Idaho Invitational on Saturday, May 1.
Prairie Meet
Event winners at the Prairie Meet were Matt Coppernoll in the shot put and discus, Ellea Uhlenkott in the 300 hurdles and the girls 4x200 relay team. Ellea Uhlenkott took 2 seconds off her best time ever in the 300 hurdles despite clipping this hurdle with her trail leg at the Prairie Meet last Thursday.
Coppernoll won the shot put with a personal best mark of 42’5½” and the discus with a mark of 153’0”.
Uhlenkott won the 300 hurdles with a personal best mark of 48.6, despite clipping a hurdle. She also took 2nd in the 100 hurdles in 17.6 and tied for 2nd in the long jump with a mark of 14’2¾”.
The girls 4x200 team of Alli Geis, Uhlenkott, Julia Rehder and Kristin Wemhoff won with a time of 1:52.1.
Wemhoff took second in 3 individual events as she was second in the 100 in 13.4, 2nd in the 200 in 27.3 and 2nd in the 400 in 1:01.8.
Rehder tied Uhlenkott for 2nd in the long jump with a personal best of 14’2¾”. She also placed 6th in the triple jump at 28’8” and 7th int eh 200 meter dash in 29.8.
Geis was 5th in the 300 hurdles in 57.3 and 10th in the 200 in 30.3.
Sarah Lustig was 12th in the discus at 72’8” and 22nd in the shot put at 19’11”.
Olivia Klapprich was 18th in the 200 in 32.6 and 20th in the 100 in 15.8.
Meghan Fowler was 23rd in the shot at 19’1½” and 23rd in the discus at 56’5”.
The girls 4x100 team of Geis, Lustig, Klapprich and Fowler was 8th in 1:02.4.
As a team the girls placed 4th out of 12 teams with 73.5 points behind Logos, Troy and Kamiah.
For the boys team T.J. Hibbard was 2nd in the 200 meter dash in 24.1 and 3rd in both the Shot put at 38’2” and the discus at 124’9”.
Jesse Cronan was 4th in the discus at 120’7”, 4th in the long jump at 17’1¾” and 8th in the 100 meter dash in 12.5.
Zach Rambo was 5th in the 200 in 25.1, 11th in the 100 in 12.8 and 11th in the long jump at 15’8½”.
Shane Hanson was 5th in the discus at 116’2” and 11th in the high jump at 5’0”.
Tyler Wemhoff was 6th in the 3200 in 12:18.5 and 16th in the high jump at 4’8”.
Sebastian Nuxoll was 6th in the 300 hurdles in 58.8, 14th in the discus at 84’1”, 24th in the 200 in 32.8 and 29th in the 100 in 15.8.
Ambrose Nuxoll was 9th in the 400 in 1:04.5, 22nd in the long jump at 12’0” and 28th in the 100 in 14.5.
Lee Forsmann was 10th in the discus at 97’5” and 17th in the long jump at 13’7¾”.
Bennie Elven was 13th in the discus at 84’1”.
Quirt Goeckner was 15th in the discus at 83’10” and 19th in the 200 in 28.9.
The medley relay team of Goeckner, Forsmann, Elven and Wemhoff was 5th in 4:37.8.
The 4x200 team of Elven, Forsmann, Hanson and Ambrose Nuxoll was 6th in 1:54.9.
The 4x100 team of Cronan, Elven, Rambo and Hibbard had a baton mishap on the final exchange and were disqualified.
As a team the boys were 4th out of 12 teams with 72 points behind, Kamiah, Troy and Clearwater Valley.
A shoutout to the coaches and volunteers from the editor: I have been to a lot of track meets over the years and Prairie’s 3 meets so far have been as well run as any of them and better than most.
Central Idaho Invitational
The girls team won 3 relays while Coppernoll and Uhlenkott each won individual events at the Central Idaho Invitational at Lapwai Saturday, May 1.
Coppernoll won the discus with a mark of 146’11” and was third in the shot put at 41’1½”.
Uhlenkott won the 100 meter hurdles in 17.26, a new personal best.
The same four girls ran all 3 winning relays. Geis, Uhlenkott, Rehder and Wemhoff won the 4x100 in 54.18, the 4x200 in 1:53.97 and the medley in 1:58.15.
Wemhoff placed 2nd in the 100 in 13.60.
Rehder was third in the long jump at 13’10½”.
Klapprich was 5th in the long jump at 13’4½”, 13th in the 200 in 32.37 and 20th in the 100 in 15.8.
Geis was 11th in the 100 in 14.86.
Meghan Fowler was 17th in the 200 in 37.13, 17th in the discus at 58’4” and 21st in the shot at 17’9”.
As a team the girls placed fourth out of 11 teams with 57.5 points behind Logos, Highland and Clearwater Valley.
Rambo was second in the long jump at 17’1”, a new PR, and tied for 5th in the high jump at 5’0” and was 6th in the 200 in 25.42.
Hibbard was third in the 200 in 24.38, third in the discus at 128’8” and fourth in the shot put at 38’5”.
Sebastian Nuxoll was third in the 300 hurdles in 1:03.05 and 20th in the discus at 83’1”.
Cronan was 5th in the discus at 117’4” and 11th in the shot put at 33’5”.
Hanson was tied for 5th in the high jump at 5’0”, 6th in the discus at 112’4” and 17th in the 100 in 13.70.
Wemhoff was 7th in the 1600 in 5:27.60 and 11th in the 800 in 2:27.17.
Forsmann was 9th in the long jump at 14’0”, 14th in the discus at 96’0” and 21st in the 100 in 14.17.
Ambrose Nuxoll was 10th in the long jump at 13’8”, 10th in the 400 at 1:05.25, 20th in the 200 in 30.50 and 22nbd in the 100 in 14.59.
Elven was 13th in the 400 in 1:07.30, 16th and 16th in the discus at 93’2”.
Goeckner was 14th in the 400 in 1:07.41 and 24th in the discus at 74’8”.
The 4x200 team of Cronan, Elven, Sebastian Nuxoll and Rambo was 2nd in 1:50.13.
It wasn’t in the official results but the team of Elven, Coppernoll, Hibbard and Cronan won the “Throwers Relay.”
As a team the boys placed tied for 3rd out of 11 teams with 74 points. They were behind Clearwater Valley and Logos and tied with McLaughlin High of Milton-Freewater, OR.
