Letters to the editor from this week's Chronicle

Dear Editor,
Many people are saying that we should all get the Covid vaccine. It even seems to be implied that if you don't, you're a "conspiracy theorist", probably stupid, and maybe evil. This isn't very nice. It also isn't very brave, because it does not engage with the reasons people have for not getting the vaccine. Neither does it give any defense for the pro-vaccine position. If the vaccination is scientific, then we should see scientific explanations for it. What we have had is a bevy of advertising and endorsements. The advertising is manipulative and shy on information, and even if an endorsement comes from someone with "Dr." in front of their name, but they fail to provide actual and credible research (not just, "According to the CDC") to support what they say, then at the end of the day, it really is just an opinion.
Before we call someone "anti-science" or "anti-vaxer" for not thinking the same thoughts as us, let's look at their reasons, and consider with an open mind the evidence they present. The ability to do this is a sign of a stable and balanced person, someone who does not fear contrary opinions because they know that the questioning process will only support those beliefs which are true, and expose those which are not. Either way, we will all be closer to the truth than we were before. And don't we all want the truth?

Dear Editor,
According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS) was established in 1990 as a national early warning system that monitors the safety of vaccines after they are authorized or licensed for use by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Apparently health care providers are reluctant to report adverse events because a million dollar study conducted by the Dept. of Health and Human Services, released in 2010, concluded that “Adverse events from vaccines are common but underreported, with less than one percent reported to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Low reporting rates preclude or delay the identification of "problem" vaccines, potentially endangering the health of the public.” Keep this low reporting in mind while reading the latest statistics from VAERS:
Between Dec. 14, 2020 and July 9, 2021 there have been a total of 463,457 reports of adverse events from all age groups following COVID vaccines, including 10,991 deaths and 48,385 serious injuries.
According to the DHHS study cited above, these numbers could actually be as much as 100 times higher!
So, what does the FDA do when faced with deaths and serious reactions to vaccine campaigns?
How have they responded in the past? A proven association between the 1976–1977 swine influenza vaccine and approximately 400 cases of Guillain–Barré syndrome halted that particular national vaccination campaign. The reported deaths following that swine flu vaccination campaign, 30 out of 40-45 million vaccines,  were insignificant compared to the current reported death toll of 10,991 due to COVID vaccines. Today’s death rate is more than 100 times higher than that which ended the swine flu vaccine campaign.
I wonder why 11,000 deaths and 50,000 serious injuries are not enough to shut down the vaccine campaign now when 30 deaths were enough to do so in the 1970's. Obviously, the FDA's purpose of protecting the public by insuring the safety of vaccines, etc. has changed. Anyone who submits to the potentially lethal COVID-19 experimental gene modification therapy (not a “vaccine”) is on their own. No liability by the manufacturers, no oversight by the government health agencies.

Redneck Review!
No. 325 - 7/18/2021
Any readers here remember the movie "Back to the future?"  Well, this RNR could best be called "Back to the past" as it is the intent to return to the issues discussed two weeks ago!
The internet is buzzing these days with news that never makes the current "PC" (Politically Correct) news.  These very biased sources include TV's CNN,  the more traditionally ABC, CBS, and NBC, and a few others fall into the "PC" crowd!  And suggested here is that the "AP", (Associated Press) is the most serious offender of our  traditional way of life of all of the other sources which lean liberal AND HARD to the left!  I challenge any reader to read no more than a few paragraphs, and you will find an insulting and demeaning and hate filled comment on our past president, Donald Trump!  He is held responsible for all problems, for the invasion of the capitol January 6, global warming, even the violent and hate filled burning and looting of cities that is still going on.  Wow!  If the history of the future is honestly told, you and I both know that Trump will go down as the most attacked and vilified ex-president in the history of our country!  And I wonder if even a mention will be made of the historic progress made during his first four years in defense of life and the unborn, in the protection of our southern border, in the rapid development of Covid vaccines, and a restoration of our court system back towards the traditional with his Supreme Court nominees and over 250 lower court judges  And we should also mention the rank our country achieved as the number one producer of crude oil and fuel IN THE WORLD!  And do you ever see the PC group named above complain that our current president immediately stopped the fuel pipeline construction which immediately eliminated some 50,000 high paying jobs?  And that we now recently placed an order for imported crude from one of our noted enemies?
The list goes on! But before continuing, it should be noted that a significant number of our citizenry today have put FOX news,  NewsMax, and other right wing commentators on their own hate list. Granted they have the  right to that opinion!  But, admitting that no source is perfect, I bluntly challenge all readers to watch BOTH SIDES on controversial issues! It is dangerous to pay lip service to either the right or the left exclusively!  Know your opponents!
This article is closed with a question that must be asked!  Is the American character strong enough to stop the current rush to destruction that history tells us is our future?  A close study of the techniques of Karl Marx, put into place by Lenin and Stalin in Russia, tells any student of history that we are following the Pied Piper of Marxist destruction "to the letter!"  Please note that historical communism is only a bit over 100 years old, Russia fell under their control in 1917!  Their tactics stressing atheism, lying and deceit, and the lures of FREE "this and  that" under SOCIALISM have been used to take over significant parts of our known world in our time.  Venezuela is perhaps the latest to fall for the planned strategy, falling from one of the richest nations in S. America if not the world, to its starvation status today, under, you guessed it, a couple of avoved socialists, Chavez and Maduro, roughly in power since 2000. And if you have been following the news, you will note that the people of Cuba are rebelling today in an aggressive way against their Marxist government, established some time after
1960 under Castro.
Repeatedly in past RNR's, we have quoted Communist leaders calling for conflict and hate to replace love and cooperation!  They repeatedly have singled out the Catholic Church and all Christian denominations as "Enemies of the revolution."  They promise the "free, free, free" lure of socialism to lead  our unsuspecting citizenry down the road to ruin and destruction! It  needs be asked and pondered:  Are we not going down the very same path today?
