Letters to the editor from this week's Chronicle

To the Editor
PA-C Nick Box sites a study from the CDC stating you should still be vaccinated if you were also infected with COVID-19; I can also site a study that says the opposite; and for every study he can site I can match with another study. What I noticed about all the studies is none of them are peer reviewed. So in the interim we have conflicting points of view and need to be patient about how we move forward with what is still being called an emergency use authorization vaccine.
We are learning more every day about the vaccine and the effects it is having on those who have received it. For some it is working well and for others they have had life changing effects to their health.
A review of the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) reveals this. Some of these adverse responses are minor, others have been serious to life threatening and even causing death. All vaccines carry a risk, and these risks need to be weighed and made known to each individual patient so an educated decision can be made.
The latest news from the FDA, Sept 17, 2021 is not to recommend a booster shot. One of the participants in the meeting, Dr. Steve Kirsch stated the following, “Today we focus almost exclusively on COVID death saves and vaccine efficacy because we were led to believe that vaccines were perfectly safe. But this is simply not true. For example, there are four times as many heart attacks in the treatment group in the Pfizer 6-month trial report; that wasn’t bad luck. VAERS shows heart attacks happened 71 times more often following these vaccines compared to any other vaccine.” Dr. Kirsch is concerned, so was the committee. They voted 16-2 against President Biden’s CDC proposed booster shot program.
As we progress in our understanding and the emerging science with respect to this virus, we should also adjust our treatment protocols. We are learning much about monoclonal antibody therapy, and therapeutic drugs like Ivermectin are showing great promise for early treatment and also as a prophylactic against infection. Case in point; in Uttar Pradesh India, a province of 241 million people, the recovery rate has increased up to 98.7% with the use of Ivermectin. The Hindustan Times reported that overall the state has a total of 199 active cases, and the positivity rate came down to less than 0.01 percent. What do they know in Uttar Pradesh and why aren’t we doing it here?
I am not doubting PA-C Box’s sincerity or concerns, however I would encourage him and our health care system to look at treating every patient as an individual. A one size fits all is not the solution to the challenge before us. We will get through this and we need to know the facts as we learn them. I want to place my trust in our community health care system and we need them to be the leaders in making medical decisions, not political decisions.

Redneck Review!
No. 334 - 9/19/2021
An Open letter to President Joe Biden! Part 2!
A reminder Joe, that most  of us older folks clearly remember when our part of the state and nation was almost totally Democrat.  That definitely includes my father, and grandfathers on both sides of my family.  One of the major reasons, true or false, was that the Democratic  party was believed to be the voice of working men, whereas Republicans represented the wealthy and the ownership class. But, as claimed last week, times have changed! The new Democratic Party now supports abortion,  gun control, control from the top over local control, plus many other radical new ideas!  Also, replacing restrictions found in our Constitution and in the ten Commandments with modern ideas stressing the capacity of man to ignore the role of God, replacing HIM with the evolving wishes of man. And show me where, Joe,  the old Democrat Party believed that newcomers could flood into our country, uncontrolled and be placed around the nation at our government's expense, especially now without masks required when many are infected with covid. And are we not allowing many of these same immigrants to flood in without being tested for criminal and drug backgrounds? Will there not be a significant increase in crimes of theft, rape, and murder that occur in those cities designated to house them? Solid evidence exists that this is already happening!
Will they be allowed to become voters without going through the rigors of becoming citizens? And what will the earlier legal immigrants think when these new ones can come into our country without enduring the rigors of becoming citizens? True it is that we have always been a nation of immigrants, but never in the manner we are experiencing today.  NEVER!
And Joe, is it your idea to condemn those states which are trying to tighten their voting roles by requiring signature proof of citizenship in our  elections? The number of times a signature is required for other reasons is huge, yet your party seems to be offended by requirements that a citizen signature is needed to vote in our elections!  Or could it really be that you favor giving that important right to anyone who has entered this country illegally? And I have to ask, Joe, have you seen any of the solid evidence that fraud changed the last election? For an interesting claim, backed by a $5 million challenge, log onto frankspeech.com!
And back to the mask issue again, why is it that you believe you have the authority to DEMAND nearly universal mask requirements for all, including young children who are rarely impacted by the virus?  Especially when the immigrants above are not required to do the same? Is it not true that parents are the ones who should decided issues affecting their children?  And might I ask, can anyone find in our Constitution the power to dictate to parents how to care for their own children!  The FREEDOM we have experienced based on our religion and our constitutional government has made us the envy of the world, say nothing of the unparalleled PROSPERITY history always records. Why on earth, Joe, would you expect any freedom loving American to adopt or tolerate a dictatorship like you seem to believe you have the power to be! After all, it is well known that governments like that can be found every where in the grave yards of history!  Do you really expect the people to support you in carrying our nation down that road?
There is more, Joe, much more!  The rapid and unplanned withdrawal from Kabul, leaving not only some Americans, but hundreds of allied local citizens behind, to suffer the wrath of the now victorious Taliban is unbelievable!  Especially since troops were pulled out first, leaving we are told nearly $100 billion worth of our sophisticated weapons behind!  Is not the  ruthless Taliban now the best equipped military group in the middle east?  (Final questions next week!)
