From the Church on the Hill

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14).
Our Father in heaven, we are a privileged people. We are your people; we are called by the name of your son; for as Christians, we are of Christ. It is in the name of Jesus the Christ that we come before you now.
Your word says if we humble ourselves, you will hear us. Yet, Almighty God our humility is often insincere. We claim humbleness but we refuse to surrender to you fully. Break our stubbornness and pride. Make us truly humble. For we acknowledge your sovereignty and we acknowledge that your ways are just and true.
Dear Lord we want a deeper relationship with you. We want to seek your face, to know you and to please you. So, in humility, we pray that you will enable us to know and obey you.
A visible evidence of our humility and relationship with you is obedience to your word. We ask you to forgive us for turning away from the clear teachings of the Bible. Forgive us for making excuses for our wickedness – both personal and corporate. Personally I pray you would forgive me for _ _ _ _ _ _, _ _ _ _ _ ,  _ _ _ _ _ _ . Corporately I pray you would forgive us your people for apathy, greed, lack of compassion, worldliness, infighting _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _. Convict us and empower us to turn from our evil ways. Give us the desire to read your word, internalize it and obey it. Create in us clean hearts, O Lord, and renew a steadfast spirt within each of us.
In deep humility, we remind you that you have promised If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven. Father in heaven please hear us. You have blessed this nation beyond measure. Nevertheless, it is a wicked nation. We are deserving of judgement, both your Church and this country. Now there is a rising totalitarian spirit, hungry to enslave your people and the citizens of this nation. There is sickness in the land. There is economic hardship. There is injustice there is violence.
Lord you promised that when your humble obedient people pray to you, you will forgive their sin and heal their land. We cry out to you - do so now. Raise up godly men and women who will turn back the tide of oppression in our civil government. Give wisdom and a love of truth to those who influence and direct public health policy. Provide the blessings you promise to those who steward this earth according to your Word. Give us just judges and public servants – and may each of us seek justice in all parts of our lives. Moreover, may justice prevail in bringing an end to the riotous crime and violence in this nation.
Heal our land we pray, for your glory and our benefit. Restore us and strengthen us as ambassadors of the gospel of our king Jesus. We ask these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
