Patriots swept by Deary
The St. John Bosco Patriots basketball teams were swept by Deary Friday, Dec. 17 at Deary.
The boys team lost 40-56 while the girls team lost 27-53.

Boys at Deary

The Patriots kept it close through the first quarter as they trailed the Mustangs just 14-17 at the end of the period.
Deary outscored SJB 4-14 in the second quarter to take an 18-31 lead at the half.
The scoring was close in the second half as the Patriots were unable to cut much into the lead. They outscored Deary 12-11 in the third quarter but the Mustangs outscored them 10-14 in the fourth.
Cody Wassmuth led the Patriots in scoring with 14 points with Tory Chmelik scoring 12. Luke Stubbers scored 6 while Clay Weckman and Levi Wassmuth each scored 4 points.
The Patriots are now 3-2 on the season and 2-1 in league play.

Girls at Deary

In the girls game at Deary, the Lady Mustangs jumped out to a 7-16 lead after one quarter against the Lady Patriots.
They upped the lead to 13-29 by halftime and 22-41 after 3 quarters.
Jade Prigge led the Lady Patriots in scoring with 13 points. Sarah Waters scored 6, Dani Sonnen 4, and Julia Wassmuth and Rachel Sonnen 2 each.
The Lady Patriots are now 0-4 on the season and 0-3 in league play.
