Boys win, girls lose at Salmon River
The St. John Bosco Patriots split their games against Salmon River at Riggins Tuesday, Dec. 21. The boys won 59-54 while the girls lost 30-39.
Boys at Salmon River
The Patriots trailed after the opening quarter, 16-18 but took a 28-26 lead at the half. They led 49-42 after 3 quarters and held on in the fourth to win by 5.
Tory Chmelik had a big game with 27 points with Cody Wassmuth and Clay Weckman also in double figures with 14 and 12 points respectively.
Dustin Kaschmitter scored 4 points and had 4 blocked shots while Luke Stubbers scored 2 points.
The Patriots close out 2021 with a 4-2 record.

Girls at Salmon River
In the girls’ game, St. John Bosco dug themselves a hole in the first quarter as Salmon River took a 3-11 lead. The Lady Patriots were outscored by just 1 point the remainder of the game.
They trailed 7-19 at the half but closed with 22-30 after 3 quarters.
Jade Prigge led the scoring with 16 points. Sarah Waters scored 7, Dani Sonnen, Noelle Chmelik and Julia Wassmuth scored 2 each and Raylie Warren scored 1.
Waters scored the Lady Patriots only 3-pointer.
The Lady Patriots finish 2021 with a 0-5 record.
The next action for the Patriots are home games against Clearwater Valley on Tuesday, Jan. 4.
