Lady Patriots finish 4th at District
The St. John Bosco Lady Patriots closed out their season with a 29-37 loss at Nezperce Tuesday, Feb. 8, to finish in fourth place at the District Tournament.
Nezperce jumped out to a 4-12 lead after one quarter then outscored the Patriots just 3-5 in the second quarter to take a 7-17 halftime lead.
According to Steve Wherry of the Lewis County Herald, (who took the accompanying photos) the Patriots should have been way ahead in the first half. They dominated the action but just could not get their shots to fall.
Nezperce outscored the Patriots 2-10 in the third quarter to take a 9-27 lead into the fourth and then had to hold off a Patriots’ rally.
St. John Bosco outscored Nezperce 20-10 in the final period but it wasn’t enough to dig themselves out of the hole they built through the first 3 quarters.
Jade Prigge scored 9 points to lead the Patriots with Julia Wassmuth scoring 8 and Sarah Waters 7. Dani Sonnen scored 3 and Raylie Warren scored 2.
