The Prairie Cross Country team competed at a pair of meets last week. On Wednesday, Sept. 21 they were at Deyo Reservoir for the Spartan Invite. On Saturday, Sept. 24, they were at Eagle Island State Park for the Bob Firman Invitational.

Spartan Invite

The Spartan Invite was held at Deyo Reservoir on Wednesday, Sept. 21.
The Prairie/Grangeville boys team took first in the team competition.
Top Prairie runner was Chase VonBargen who placed 6^th in 21:27 and earned a medal. Secrest was 13^th in 22:28. Enneking was 20^th in 23:42. Poxleitner was 25^th in 24:59. Dylan Klapprich was 33^rd in 27:43. Riener was 34^th in 29:07.
The Grangeville athletes running for Prairie were Ryan Detweiler, 3^rd in 19:49; A.J. Rose, 4^th in 20:43; Simeon Sanchez, 5^th in 21:05; Gabe Bybee, 14^th in 22:37; Ayden Arnett, 23^rd in 24:42 and Parker Farmer, 24^th in 24:56.
Both Goeckner and Severns earned medals in the girls high school race as the top 10 finishers all received medals. Goeckner was 6^th in 26:55 and Severns was 9^th in 30:06.
Grangeville athletes running for Prairie were Kylie Rasmussen, 3^rd in 26:36, and Kacee Evans, 5^th in 26:54.
All of Prairie’s junior high boys runners were awarded medals. In the boys race Jones was 3^rd in 14:10. Hanson was 6^th in 15:01. Decaria was 7^th in 17:25 and Villamor was 8^th in 18:35.
In the girls race Gehring was 8^th in 15:03. Olivia Uhlenkott, in her first race of the season, was 9^th in 15:09. Kehler was 11^th in 15:30. Gehring and Uhlenkott each were awarded medals.

Bob Firman Invitational

The Bob Firman Invitational held at Eagle Island State Park near Eagle, Idaho, was a huge meet with over 4200 competitors.
Prairie ran in the JV races which had enough competitors they split them into two races each.
The boys race Prairie was in had 341 runners and 26 teams. Prairie placed 22^nd as a team.
VonBargen was the Pirates top finisher placing 145^th in 20:34.7. Enneking was 198^th in 21:35.0. Secrest was 226^th in 22:00.2. Poxleitner was 282^nd in 23:21.3. Klapprich was 300^th in 26:07.6. Uptmor was 327^th in 26:07.6. Riener was 328^th in 26:34.0.
In the girls race there were 164 runners. Goeckner was 78^th in 26:17.1. Severns was 133^rd in 29:25.9 and Callie Remacle was 144^th in 30:51.0.

Cousins Olivia Uhlenkott and Evelyn Gehring each earned medals in the girls junior high race at the Spartan Invite.
