The Prairie Cross Country team traveled to Potlatch last Tuesday, Oct. 4, for the Potlatch Invitational.
In the high school boys race Prairie was missing the usual top 3 finishers with Morgan Poxleitner placing 36^th in 23:30.69. Zane Uptmor was 45^th in 25:17.21. Dylan Klapprich was 49^th in 26:34.34 and Landon Riener was 54^th in 31:12.08. However, with the Grangeville runners they placed 6^th as a team. Simeon Sanchez was third in 19:27.84. Gabe Bybee was 19^th in 22:03.67, Parker Farmer was 42^nd in 24:37.97 and Ayden Arnett was 44^th in 25:09.11.
In the high school girls race Prairie had just 3 runners as Elizabeth Severns placed 19^th in 27:41.45. Alaina Lustig was 24^th in 30:27.08 and Miranda Klapprich was 30^th in 34:26.94. Natalie Goeckner and Callie Remacle were unable to attend. Two Grangeville girls running as Prairie enable Prairie to finish 3^rd as a team. Kacee Evans was 12^th in 25:46.29 and Kassi Miller was 20^th in 27:43.91.
The junior high girls placed 2^nd as a team with both Evelyn Gehring and Aubree Geis earning medals. Gehring was 4^th in 14:34.98 and Geis was 5^th in 14:36.09. Avery Kehler was 13^th in 15:52.42. Olivia Uhlenkott was 16^th in 17:32.05 and Alaina Decaria was 23^rd in 20:04.42.
Matthew Jones was Prairie’s top finisher in the junior high boys race as he placed 17^th in 14:32.47. Kade Hanson was 22^nd in 16:07.98. Gabe Decaria was 26^th in 17:46.41 and George Villamor was 28^th in 19:01.33.
