Cross Country team at CV-K Invitational
The Prairie Cross Country Team competed at the CV-K Invitational Meet at Kamiah last Wednesday, Oct. 12.
They were missing several runners due to illness and some started the race but were unable to finish.
In the boys high school race Jackson Enneking was Prairie’s top finisher as he placed 7th in 20:45.
Dylan Klapprich was 16th in 23:40 and Zane Uptmor was 19th in 27:07.
Chase VonBargen and Landon Riener both started the race but were unable to finish. Ben Secrest and Morgan Poxleitner didn’t run due to illness.
In the girls high school race Elizabeth Severns was Prairie’s top finisher in 8th place with a time of 29:42. Miranda Klapprich was 10th in 32:32 and Alaina Lustig was 11th in 32:49. Natalie Goeckner and Callie Remacle both started but were unable to finish.
In the junior high boys race Matthew Jones placed 2nd in 12:31. Kade Hanson was 5th in 14:35. Gabe Decaria was 6th in 14:41 and George Villamor was 7th in 14:43.
Prairie finished 1-2 in the girls junior high race as Aubree Geis was first in 12:08 while Evelyn Gehring was 2nd in 12:12. Gehring might have finished first as she was leading when she got directed the wrong way allowing Geis and a Nezperce runner to pass her. She passed the Nezperce runner down the stretch to finish 2nd.
Olivia Uhlenkott was 4th in 12:15. Avery Kehler was 7th in 13:08 and Alaina Decaria was 9th in 16:32.
Their next meet is the District meet at the Lewiston Orchards Wednesday, Oct. 19. The girls race is set to start at 2 p.m. with the boys race at 2:45 p.m.

Jackson Enneking, Dylan Klapprich and Zane Uptmor as they come back into the track complex were the only Prairie boys able to finish the race.

Elizabeth Severns, Alaina Lustig and Miranda Klapprich were the only girls able to finish.

Aubree Geis leads everyone into the track complex for a final lap around the track.

PIRATES CROSSCOUNTRY SCHEDULE FOR 2022
OCTOBER
29-State Meet, Lewiston, the boys team qualified for State and will run at 2:30 p.m., details next week.
