Letters to the editor from this week's Chronicle

Redneck Review!
This will be the last RNR as Dad passed away on Saturday, Dec. 3rd.  True to the end, this column was so very important to him. This last message is to inform his many readers of his passing.  The family appreciates you printing this last explanation and for your many years of running the Redneck Review.
Sincerely,
His daughter,
Annette Wemhoff
“My name is Fr. Bruce Wren, L.C., and my father is the author of this column.  As many of you probably already know, he peacefully passed away last Saturday afternoon in the company of three of his sons and soon afterward by all of his ten children. In this way, he followed his wife of 64 years, Marianne, who passed away just four months ago.  Dad thought that maybe Mom was pulling strings in heaven to get him up there with her, but my siblings and I thought it more probable that she was enjoying her peace up there, and was piously praying to God that Dad might continue his heroic life here below… just a few years more!
Dad was worried about his “Red Neck Review” up until the day before he died. He wanted to last until the 400th article, but he only made it to #396, and even that was only a reprint of article #11, for he was just too weak, and – especially in his last week – his struggle to think things through was waning. But in his habitual way, he kept plugging away.  Two days before he died, he kept my sister at his side for at least an hour, trying to get all the loose ends of “RNR” tied up. He always was a warrior type.
My siblings asked me to write this final note so that all who follow him via the “RNR” might pray for him, and thank the Lord for his life and ideas. We will say our final goodbye to him on Saturday the 10th at St. Mary’s Parish in Cottonwood, Idaho. The rosary will begin at 12:30 p.m. followed by the funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m. Immediately after his burial at the Cottonwood cemetery a reception dinner in his honor will be offered at the Ferdinand Community Hall.  You are all cordially invited.”
