3 girls finish in top ten at Seaport Invite
The Prairie Cross Country team traveled to Clarkston Saturday, Sept. 9, for the Seaport Invite.
The girls high school team had 3 runners finish in the top 10 as they finished 2^nd as a team behind a strong Pullman squad that had the top 3 finishers. Prairie had 44 points.
Aubree Geis finished 5^th in 24:23.99 with Olivia Uhlenkott in 9^th at 26:00.79 and Evelyn Gehring in 10^th at 26:16.36. Not far out of the top 10 was Natalie Goeckner in 13^th at 27:11.74. Elizabeth Severns was 19^th in 28:37.85. Alaina Lustig was 26^th in 30:42.51. Callie Remacle was 29^th in 31:55.58 and Ella McLeod was 34^th in 33:20.26.
The boys team finished 3^rd out of 5 teams with 91 points. Prairie’s top finisher was Chase Vonbargen who finished 11^th in 20:42.81. Ben Secrest was 17^th in 21:33.58. Jackson Enneking was 25^th in 22:45.23. Max Rehder was 35^th in 24:26.68. Dylan Klapprich was 36^th in 25:16.97. Landon Riener was 38^th in 27:18.01. Zane Uptmor was 40^th in 29:16.24.
The junior high boys also competed. They didn’t have enough runners for a team score but had 2 runners in the top 10. Phineas Fitch, a new student at Prairie from Montana, finished 2^nd in 9:05.47. Matthew Jones finished 7^th in 9:51.54. Gabe Severns was 19^th in 10:39.75 and Kade Hanson was 43^rd in 11:45.43.
Prairie has no junior high girls competitors this year.
Prairie will host a meet this Wednesday, Sept. 13 with the junior high girls set to start at 4 p.m. The junior high boys will be at 4:25 p.m. The high school girls race will start at 4:50 p.m. and the high school boys race will start at 5:30 p.m.
