Schacher takes first at Kellogg The Prairie Wrestling team competed at a pair of events this past week. On Wednesday, Dec. 10, they were at the Grangeville Invite. On Friday and Saturday, Dec. 12-13, the traveled to Kellogg for the George Wilde Invitational. Grangeville Duals At the dual meet at
Grangeville Mikayla Rowland lost by pin to a Grangeville wrestler in
1:02.5 and also lost by pin to a CV wrestler in 27 seconds.Zach Schumacher lost to a C.V. wrestler by pin in 2:46 and to a Grangeville wrestler in 52 seconds. Ashton Martin lost by technical fall, 2-20 in 2:20 to a Grangeville wrestler. He then lost by pin to a C.V. wrestler in 1:45.2. Devon Poxleitner lost by pin to a C.V. wrestler in 1:38.3 then won by pin in 1:46.7 over Noah Johnson of Nezperce. Raymond Cross lost by pin to a Kamiah wrestler in 1:18. Avery Schacher did not wrestle due to an infection. George Wilde Invitational Schacher picked up another
first place finish at a tournament as she won her weight class at the
George Wilde Invitational at Kellogg this past weekend.Schacher opened against Sequoia Stevens of Lakeland and won by pin right at the end of the first period in 2:00. In the semifinals she won by pin in a lightning fast 14 seconds over Rhianne Arthur of Lapwai. In the championship match she needed just 42 seconds to win by pin over Ariana Turnbull of Sandpoint. Rowland wrestled twice in the 145 lbs. bracket in the girls tournament. She lost by pin to Shayne Pirlot of Sandpoint in 3:25 in her first round match. In her consolation round match she built a 14-5 lead over Avah Clark of Lakeland only to get taken down and pinned in the third period at the 3:28 mark of the match. In the boys portion of the tournament Zach Schumacher competed at 138 lbs. In his first match He lost by pin in 1:01 to Levi Foss of Lakeland. He had a bye in the first consolation round. In the second consolation round he lost by pin in 1:30 to Will Kral of Lakeland. Ashton Martin competed at 157 lbs. After receiving a first round bye, he lost by pin in 3:18 to Thomas Corkery of Lakeland. In his first consolation match he won by medical forfeit over Hamza Rafeeq of Post Falls. He then lost by pin in 2:36 to Dayton Wooden of Aberdeen. Devon Poxleitner wrestled at 165 lbs. In his first match he lost by pin in 1:57 to John Holman of Sandpoint. In his first consolation match he was trailing Taylor Brown of Soda Springs by 4-3 when he scored a reversal and then won by pin at the 2:38 mark. He then won by pin in 58 seconds over Mason Torres of Post Falls. In the next round of consolation he won by pin in 27 seconds over Christian Williams of Priest River. He was then eliminated by Technical Fall, 2-17, in 2:37 by Troy Krupp of Soda Springs. At 285 lbs. Raymond Cross lost his first match by pin in 48 seconds to Taylor Dodd of Bonners Ferry.
