Prairie High School held their annual Alumni Basketball games on Friday, Dec. 26. There were 14 women and 18 men that showed up ready to play. Several that we hadn’t seen in years. The women separated into two teams of 7. On the white team were Tara Schlader, Madison Shears, Kristin Wemhoff, Hope Schwartz, Ellea Uhlenkott Bruzas, Lexi Schumacher and Becky Geh-ring Slichter. For the black team Leah Higgins, MaKayla Schaeffer Williams, Sky Wilson, Angela Wemhoff, Kayla Schumacher Ross, Sydney Bruner and Bridget Enneking. The white team, which features 3 state players of the year in Shears, Wemhoff and Schumacher, led 44-23 at the half and won 68-40. The men separated into two teams of 9. The white team was made up of Lee Forsmann, Lane Schumacher, Wyatt Ross, Calvin Hinkelman, Jake Stubbers, Zach Rambo, Adam Forsmann, Justin Schmidt and Ryan Wemhoff. The black team featured Dylan Schumacher, Kenneth Enneking, Pat McWilliams, Devin Ross, Tanner Ross, Devin Schmidt, Gavin Branson, Ryan Glimp and Jake Holthaus. The teams play six 10-minute running clock periods. The black team led 23-13 after the first and 41-32 after the second. They struggled mightily in the third scoring just 2 points as the white team took a 53-43 lead. The black team came back in the fourth to take a 67-64 lead. The white team prevailed in the fifth as they took an 85-83 lead.
