Patriots lose
The St. John Bosco girls lost two games this past week. They lost to Deary 37-49 at home on Tuesday, Jan. 14 and at the Clarkston JV 35-38 on Thursday, Jan. 16.
The boys meanwhile lost at least 2 games. They lost to Deary 36-51 at Cottonwood on Tuesday, Jan. 14 and lost to C.V. at Cottonwood 38-52 on Friday, Jan. 17. They also played the Clarkston JV at Clarkston  on Thursday, Jan. 16 but we have no score available.
Girls vs. Deary
The girls game against Deary got away from the Patriots in the second half. They trailed 6-9 after one quarter and just 21-22 at the half.
Deary outscored them 9-17 in the third quarter to take a 30-39 lead into the fourth. Deary outscored them 7-10 in the fourth.
Julia Wassmuth led the scoring with 9 points, just ahead of Savannah Perrin who had 8. Sarah Waters scored 6, Madeline Wassmuth 4, Noelle Chmelik and CeCe Remacle 3 each and Rachel Sonnen and Miah Mager 2 each.
Bosco won the JV game 17-9.

Boys vs. Deary
The boys took an 11-10 lead over Deary at the end of the first quarter. However, Deary turned things around in the second quarter, outscoring the Patriots 4-16 to take a 15-26 halftime lead.
They outscored the Patriots 6-13 in the third quarter to take a 21-39 lead into the fourth. Bosco was able to outscore Deary 15-12 in the fourth quarter.
Cody Weckman led the scoring for the Patriots with 10 points. Henry Baldwin scored 8 with Ignatius Parmentier scoring 6. TommyRose scored 4 while Wyatt Crea and Pierce Frei scored 3 each and Connor Nuxoll scored 2.
Deary also won the JV game 16-21.

At Clarkston JV
We only have a girls score of 35-38 and no boys score.
The girls are now 4-7 on the season and 2-6 in league play.
Boys vs. C.V.
In the game against the league-leading Rams, Bosco fell behind 9-19 by the end of the first. However, they rallied in the second quarter, outscoring the Rams 18-6 to take a 27-25 lead at the half.
The still led 36-35 after 3 quarters. C.V. rolled over them 2-17 in the fourth quarter though to win going away.
Weckman again led the scoring with 10 points. Nuxoll scored 9, Baldwin 8, Nathan Wassmuth 7 and Crea and Rose 2 each.
The Patriots are now either 1-13 or 2-12 on the season (depending on how the Clarkston JV game turned out) and 1-9 in league play.

Lady Patriots win at Timberline
Thanks to Timberline’s NFHS camera we have more details on last week’s Lady Patriots 56-30 win at Timberline.
The Patriots got off to a slow start as they trailed 8-12 at one point in the first quarter and 11-12 at the end of the quarter thanks to a 3-point play by Savannah Perrin.
A putback each by Miah Mager and CeCe Remacle to open the second quarter gave them a 15-12 lead. Timberline then scored their only basket of the second quarter to pull within 1. The Patriots then scored 10 straight to end the half with a 25-14 lead.
Remacle scored a putback then Perrin scored after a steal. Julia Wassmuth scored a pair of lay-ups and then had a steal tat led to a basket by Noelle Chmelik to end the half.
Bosco kept it going in the third quarter by scoring the first 6 points. Julia Wassmuth took the ball the length of the court for a lay-up. Sarah Waters then scored a putback and added a lay-up to make it 31-14.
Timberline then scored 6 straight but Bosco answered with 7 straight. Chmelik, Wassmuth and Mager each scored  a basket and Wassmuth added a free throw.
After a Timberline basket, Chmelik scored from the baseline and Madeline Wassmuth sank 2 free throws to give the Patriots a 42-22 lead after 3 quarters.
The Patriots then scored the first 12 points of the fourth quarter to invoke the running clock. Wassmuth scored 10 of those 12, all on lay-ups. Perrin scored the other basket.
Timberline then scored 8 straight before Catherine Beckman scored the game’s final points.
Julia Wassmuth filled the stat sheet with 23 points, 8 rebounds, 7 steals and 3 assists. Waters scored 8 and led the team in rebounds with 11 and in steals with 8. Perrin scored 7, Chmelik 6, Remacle and Mager 4 each and Beckman and Madeline Wassmuth 2 each.
Bosco had a 48-39 advantage on the boards. Remacle also had a big game on the board with 9 and led the team in assists with 4.
The Patriots were 25 for 80 from the field, 31%, and 6 for 14 at the line, 43%. Timberline was 13 for 38 from the field, 34%, and 3 for 8 at the line, 38%.
