Wrestlers compete at North-South duals The Prairie Wrestling team competed at the Clearwater North-South Duals Friday and Saturday, Jan. 24-25. The girls had a scramble and Avery Schacher won all 3 of her matches to finish in first place in her class. She won by pin over Victoria Berger of Potlatch in 32 seconds. She then won by pin over Anna Agazzi of C.V. in 1:16. Finally she won by pin over Tierney Prather of Potlatch in 2:35. The three boys teamed up with Lapwai for the dual matches. In the first matchup against Tri-Valley the Lapwai-Prairie team lost 12-58. At 126 lbs., Zach Schumacher lost to Kaden Nokes by pin in 1:38. At 138 lbs., Ashton Martin lost by pin to Jacob Hamel in 2:30. At 215 lbs., Jake Quintal lost by pin to Mishka Rapp in 3:25. In their second matchup against Nampa Christian, the Lapwai-Prairie team lost 6-69. At 138 lbs., Martin lost by pin in 20 seconds to Riley Workman. At 190 lbs., Quintal lost to Hunter Metcalf by pin in 57 seconds. In their third match, the Lapwai-Prairie team lost to Salmon 12-48. At 126 lbs., Schumacher lost to Brayden Smith by pin in 1:26. At 138 lbs., Martin lost to Brylee Ganske by pin in 1:21. At 190 lbs., Quintal lost by pin to Razden Harris in 3:38. In their fourth match, the Lapwai-Prairie team lost to Parma 11-71. At 126 lbs., Schumacher lost to Damian Ariza by pin in 1:12. At 138 lbs. Martin won by technical fall, 19-2, over Kamren Rowland. At 190 lbs., Quintal lost by pin in 29 seconds to Liam Sutherland. In the first match on Saturday the Lapwai-Prairie team lost to Ririe 6-77. At 138 lbs., Martin lost by pin to Cody Baxter in 2:56. At 190 lbs., Quintal lost to Ryker Harris by pin in 1:00. In their second match on Saturday, the Lapwai-Prairie team lost to Melba 12-66. At 138 lbs., Martin lost by pin to Parker Beauvais in 1:32. At 190 lbs., Quintal lost by pin in 2:27 to Luke Clark. In their third Saturday match, North Gem defeated the Prairie-Lapwai team 22-48. At 126 lbs., Schumacher lost by pin to Tayven Kunz in 31 seconds. At 138 lbs., Martin lost by pin to Luke Rindlisbaker in 42 seconds. At 190 lbs., Quintal won by pin over Leif Allen in 1:30. In their fourth match on Saturday, Lapwai-Prairie defeated South Renegade 35-10. Quintal and Schumacher both won by forfeit. In the fifth and final match on Saturday, the Lapwai-Prairie team lost 24-42 to McCall-Donnelly. At 132 lbs., Schumacher lost by pin to Sawyer Lee in 2:43. At 138 lbs. Martin won by pin over Andrew Drain in 1:50.
