2A boys district to start next week
The District II Class 2A Boys District
Tournament gets started next Wednesday, Feb. 18 with 3 first round
games played at the higher seeds. If Prairie beats Potlatch and Kendrick beats Lapwai this Friday, Feb. 13, or if they both lose, Prairie would be the #1 seed and get a first round bye. They wouldn’t play until 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21. If the Pirates wind up as the #2 seed, they would host the #7 seed, Troy, at Cottonwood on Feb. 18 at 6 p.m. The #3 and #4 seeds would also host games on Wednesday, Feb. 18. There will be 3 games on Saturday, Feb. 21 at Lewiston High School starting with a loser out game at 3 p.m. followed by winners bracket games at 4:30 and 6 p.m. The tournament continues on Monday, Feb. 23, with a pair of loser-out games at 6 and 7:30 p.m. On Tuesday, Feb. 24, there will be another loser-out game at 6 p.m. followed by the District Championship game at 7:30 p.m. The Championship game winner advances to state. The second place game will be played on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. The winner of that game will advance to a State play-in game on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 3 p.m. at McCall-Donnelly High School. The 1A tournament doesn’t start until Feb. 21. We will have information on that tournament next week.
