The Cottonwood City Council held a special meeting Thursday, Feb. 12 due to lack of quorum on their regular February meeting date last Monday, Feb. 9. The only action item on the agenda was a hall rent waiver request for the 2026 PHS Safe and Sober Graduation Party. The request was approved by the Council. In reports there was no police report. In the water report the city pumped 2,172,300 gallons in January and sold 1,704,480 for a loss of 14.67%. Well #5 has been repaired and was back on line as of last Thursday after test results came back clean. They are still waiting on a contract for painting the reservoir tank. In the sewer report Brett Miller reported that Knife River has started work and is trenching for the pivots south of the creek. There was nothing to report from the streets department. In Land & Buildings the VFW said they want to work on fixing up the park bleachers. The Fire Dept. had 2 calls during January. One was a lift assist and the other was a false alarm. In other business Mayor Keith Holcomb reported he is trying to meet with Sheriff Ulmer regarding police protection for the city. The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m. The next regular meeting of the council is set for Monday, March 9 at 7 p.m. |
