Wrestlers compete at Potlatch Scramble
The Prairie wrestling team had 3 wrestlers competing at the Potlatch Scramble Thursday, Feb. 12. Zach Schumacher won his first match by pin in 1:15 over Drake Phelps of Potlatch. In his only other match he lost by technical fall, 2-17, to Brody McGreal of Potlatch. Ashton Martin lost his first match by pin in 4:32 to Halston Calanchini of Potlatch. In his second match he lost by pin in 1:09 to Wyatt Cessnun of Potlatch. He picked up a win in his third match as he won by pin in 31 seconds over Joseph Weatherwax of Lapwai. Carson Lockart had only one match which he lost by pin at the first period buzzer to Eli Morris of Lakeside. Prairie has District Tournament action this week as the girls compete at the District I-II meet at Moscow on Thursday, Feb. 19 starting at 11 a.m. The boys compete at the 3A District I-II meet at St. Maries on Saturday, Feb. 21, starting at 10 a.m. District wrestling meets are set Avery Schacher and Mikayla Rowland will be at the girls District I-II Tournament at the Moscow Bear Den Thursday, Feb. 19 starting at 11 a.m. The top 2 in each weight class will advance to State. The boys team will be at the District I-II 3A meet at St. Maries High School Saturday, Feb. 21 starting at 10 a.m. The top 4 in each weight class advance to State.
