Prairie to open against Liberty Charter at State
Prairie is the #2 seed at the State Tournament and will open against #7 seed Liberty Charter, the District 3 tournament champion. Their record is 17-5. They were runner-up in their league. The other half of Prairie’s bracket features #3 seed Valley, 19-5, the runner-up in District 4 both in league and at District, against District 1 champion Lakeside, 13-7, the #6 seed. In the evening bracket #1 seed Oakley, 21-1, the District 4 league and tournament champion, against #8 seed Wilder, 18-3, the District 3 league champion and tournament runner-up. The final game of the night features #4 seed Butte County, 17-7, the District 5-6 league and tournament champion, against #5 seed Lapwai, 20-4, the District 2 league and tournament runner-up.
Winners bracket games are at 5 and 7 p.m. on Friday with the championship game at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Ford Idaho Center. Consolation bracket games are at noon and 2 p.m. Friday. The consolation final is at 10 a.m. Saturday at Columbia High School with the 3rd place game following at noon at the same site.
