Wrestlers at Districts The girls and boys District I-II wrestling tournaments were held last week. The girls tournament was held Wednesday, Feb. 19 at Moscow and the boys tournament was held Saturday, Feb. 22 at St. Maries. At the girls tournament Avery Schacher placed third in the 165 lbs. weight class. The top 2 in each class advanced to state. She finished her season with a 13-7 record. She received a bye in each of the first two rounds on the bracket. In the semifinal she lost by technical fall 1-22 to Brooklyn Anderson of Coeur d’Alene. In the consolation semifinal she won by fall in 2:04 over Anna Agazzi of C.V. In the third placed match she won by fall over Zoey Braun Post Falls in 1:27. Finally, in the second place match with a berth at State on the line, she lost by fall to Sylvia Becker of Sandpoint in 1:46. The best finisher at the boys tournament was Jake Quintal at 190 lbs. as he placed 6th. 126 lbs.-Zachary Schuma-cher lost by fall to Orion Grimes of Priest River in 57 seconds. In consolation round 1 he received a bye. In consolation round 2 he lost by fall to Braden Hayes of Kellogg in 34 seconds. Schumacher finished the season with a 1-23 record. 138 lbs.-Ashton Martin received a first round bye. In the quarterfinal he lost by pin to Tanner Labrum of Kamiah in 1:13. In consolation round he lost by pin to Josh Whitesides of Grangeville in 29 seconds. He finished the season with a 4-25 record. 190 lbs.-Jake Quintal (won by fall over Dylan Hunt of Potlatch in 31 seconds. In the quarterfinals he lost by fall in 1:44 to Julian Moffitt of Lakeside. In consolation round 2 he received a bye. In consolation round 3 he won by fall over Henry Daniels of Lakeside in 1:40. In the consolation semifinals he lost by fall to Gunnar Eversole of Priest River in 2:58. In the 5th Place Match he lost by technical fall 5-22 to Jonah Berger of Potlatch. placed 6th and scored 13.0 team points.
