Purse Auction set for April 5
The 8th Annual YWCA Idaho County Purse Auction will be held April 5, 2025, at the Cottonwood Community Hall. Doors open at 5:00 and there will be a silent auction, dessert auction, live auction along with a pasta bar and bar to purchase wine and beer. The Purse Auction began 9 years ago when Debbie and Ron Schnider met Kristi Kientz and wanted to help victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Idaho County. The event has grown and this year, it is being held on a Saturday evening, with a theme of “Denim and Diamonds” – there will be items that are suited to both men and women and you can dress up for a night out or come casual; it’s all for a great cause! Tickets are available in advance for $20 which includes dinner or $5 for admission only. Tickets are available on the day of the event as well for an additional $5 each. The funds raised provide temporary housing, household necessities, workbooks for the classes, transportation, gas cards, clothing, court appearances and bus tickets for victims. The YWCA also provides counseling and job seeking assistance. 100% of the proceeds stay in Idaho County and portions of Lewis County served by the Grangeville office. The goal is to eventually build or acquire a safehouse for victims.
