To the Library and Beyond
That was some summery weather we had last week! Now more seasonal days feel just right.
This week we thank the Rustic Rabbit store on Pine Street in Grangeville for the
donation of two wire display racks. We immediately put them to use prominently displaying

children's books plus some giveaway books and magazines. Come on in the see the displays.
In case readers might wonder why the library charges an annual fee to check out books or other library materials, here’s why. Most libraries in Idaho are supported by resident taxes paid  to the city or a library taxing district. That is not the case for this library. All operations are possible  through library patronage fees and community donations. An entire household can borrow items for a  yearly price of $20. In the example of a four-person household that equates to $5 annually for each person.
That low cost gives access to about eighteen thousand different items valued at an estimated $350,000 or more!
New arrivals at the library include the following:
The Women by Kristen Hannah. This 2024 historical novel from the ever popular author is about the powerful contributions and horrific sacrifices of the American military nurse who served in Viet Nam.
Motherhood Realized, by Power of Moms group. This 2014 books is an anthology of the best ideas for: becoming
our best selves, getting through hard times, remembering the meaning in motherhood, etc.

The Bitterroots, by C.J.Box. In this detective novel Cassie Dewell is trying to start her life over in private practice. All that changes when an old friend calls in a favor.
The Tinderbox, by Beverly Lewis. Teenager Sylvia Miller finds her father’s unlocked cherished brass tinderbox. She  opens it, learning family secrets that challenge this Amish family’s beliefs and security.
We are thankful for our volunteers and patrons. Help us encourage more to partner with this worthy community asset.
If any high schooler is looking for a senior project, we have ideas.
Keep reading! Frances
