Lady Pirates fall to 1-3 PHS SOFTBALL SCHEDULE FOR 2025 The Prairie Lady Pirates lost a pair of league softball games last week. On Tuesday, April 1, they traveled to Kendrick and lost 12-19. On Thursday, April 3, they played Potlatch at Airport Park in Lewiston and lost 0-12. At Kendrick The Lady Pirates started well at
Kendrick as they led 8-3 after the first two innings after scoring 2 in
the first and 6 runs in the second.Kendrick pulled within 8-5 after three innings. In the top of the fourth prairie scored 2 to make it 10-5. However Kendrick scored 9 runs in the bottom of the fourth to take their first lead at 10-14. Kendrick added 2 more in the fifth and 3 in the sixth for a 10-19 lead. Prairie scored 2 in the top of the seventh to cut the final margin to 7. Kaylie Lockett pitched into the fourth inning with Halee Rowland taking over in the fourth. Prairie had 5 hits led by Kenly Forsmann who had a single and a double. Rowland had a double while Lockett and Avery Schacher each had a single. Potlatch at Lewiston The game against Potlatch was moved to Lewiston due to field conditions at Potlatch.Prairie had 2 baserunners in the first inning as Lockett reached on an error with 2 outs and Forsmann followed with a walk. Grace Uhlenkott hit the ball hard but hit it straight at the third baseman for the third out. Rowland pitched the whole game for the Pirates and gave up 2 walks and 2 singles in the first inning which Potlatch turned into 3 runs. In the top of the second Schacher hit one up the middle with 2 outs for Prairie’s first hit of the game. The next batter struck out to end the inning. Potlatch scored 8 runs in the bottom of the second on four hits, an error and several free passes. In the top of the third Zoey Behler singled toward third with 1 out but 2 strikeouts followed to end the inning. Potlatch added another run in the bottom of the third on a bunt single, 2 stolen bases and a wild pitch. Uhlenkott led off the top of the fourth and reached on a passed ball third strike. She was able to move as far as third but 2 ground outs and a strikeout kept Prairie off the scoreboard. Rowland got through the bottom of the fourth without allowing a run. The only baserunner reached on an error. Prairie went down in order in the top of the fifth as the game ended on the 10-run mercy rule. Rowland gave up 8 hits and 12 runs with 6 walks and 1 strikeout. Schacher and Behler each had a single for the Pirates. Prairie is now 1-3 on both the season and in league play.
