The 2A District 2 Baseball tournament gets underway next Wednesday, April 30 at 5 p.m. with a pair of play-in games.
The top 2 teams in the league get byes while the 3rd place team hosts the 6th place team and the 4th place team hosts the 5th in a pair of elimination games.
Nezperce and Lapwai appear to be eliminated while Potlatch and Kendrick appear to have the top 2 spots all but locked up. After sweeping Troy on Tuesday, Prairie is currently sitting in 3rd with 2 games to play. There is a good chance they will host a play-in game.
The two teams that survive Wednesday’s games will advance to the double elimination portion of District at Orofino on Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3. Games will be played at 5 and 7 p.m. on Friday. The two winners advance to the District Championship at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The two losers will play at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The 10 a.m. winner will play the 12:30 loser at 3 p.m. for second place.
