Canola tour set for May 27
The Camas Prairie Winter Canola Tour hosted by University of Idaho Extension, Pacific Northwest Canola Association will be held on Wednesday, May 27 at 7:30 a.m. at the Craigmont Legion Hall.
All farmers and ranchers, agri-support personnel, and other interested persons are welcome to attend the breakfast, hosted by PNWCA and Idaho Oilseed Commission, and crop tour to learn about prairie area canola production.
The Camas Prairie Winter Canola Tour is planned for Wednesday, May 27, 2026. The tour will begin at the Craigmont Legion Hall at 7:30 a.m. The event will start with a hosted breakfast and insurance, variety trial, and nutrient removal study presentations. Participants will then board a tour bus and visit two winter canola fields. Tour topics include winter canola varieties, plant health, market updates, and agricultural drone applications. Speakers will include University of Idaho personnel, local farmers, and representatives from PNWCA, Idaho Oilseed Commission, Croplan, HUB International, TerraPlex PNW, Rubisco Seeds, Bunge, andspecial guests Dr. Julianne Lilley and Dr. John Kirkegaard from Australia. ISDA, WSDA, and CCA credits have been applied for.
