Junior High Track competes at two meets
The Prairie Junior High Track team competed at 2 different meets this past week. On Tuesday, April 29, they traveled to Lapwai for a 6-school meet. On Saturday, May 3, they traveled to Kamiah for the 12-school KMS Invite.
In the meet at Lapwai, the boys team edged out Logos for first place by 1 point with 107.
The boys had 4 individual winners while the girls had 1.
Winning events for the boys were:
Marshall Weber in the 100 with a time of 11.93. He was also third in the 200 in 25.52 and fourth in the 400 in 57.87.
Gabe Severns in the 800 in 2:33.02. He was also second in the 1600 in 5:49.06, 10^th in the discus at 91’11”  and 14^th in the 200 in 29.00.
Austin Labrum in the shot put with a mark of 38’0”. He was also 4^th in the discus at 111’4” and 22^nd in the 200 in 30.84.
Cooper Riener in the discus with a mark of 131’8”. He was also 2^nd in the 200 in 25.16, 2^nd in the 400 in 54.98 and 4^th in the 100 in 12.34.
Tinley Hibbard was the lone girls event winner with a 31’10” mark in the shot put. She was also 2^nd in the discus at 75’4” and 34^th in the 100 in 17.41.

KMS Invite
At the 12 school KMS Invite the boys dominated with 181.5 points, well ahead of 2^nd place Logos who had 89. Meanwhile the girls team finished third with 90 points behind Logos and Kamiah.
Riener won both the 200 meter dash in 25.56 and the discus at 144’8½”. He was also 2^nd in the 400 in 54.98 and 3^rd in the 100 in 12.33. His 200 and 400 times lowered his own school records. His discus mark is a new school record, breaking the record of 133’6” set by Nathan Weber.
Weber won the 100 in 11.99. He was also 2^nd in the 200 in 26.24 and 3^rd in the 400 in 57.78. His 100 time broke his own school record of 12.39
Frei finished first in the long jump at 15’6½”. He was also 7^th in the discus at 100’5½”.
The other boys event winner was the 4x200 relay team of Lockart, Harman, Frei and Weber in 1:48.13.
For the girls, Riener won the triple jump at 26’1”. She was also 2^nd in the 800 in 2:38.43 and 4^th in the 400 in 1:07.58.
The only other event winner for the girls was the 4x200 relay team of Shears, Gehring, Schumacher and Riener in 2:04.56. A second team of Secrest, Funke, Rieger and Hope finished 6^th in 2:23.66.
