Pirates to play C.V. again The Prairie baseball team has another chance to make it to the state tournament as they will travel to Kooskia for a best 2 out of 3 ‘Super Regional’ this Friday and Saturday. This format is being used for all classifications this year and next. Despite being eliminated from District by C.V. last Tuesday, Prairie has another chance thanks to the MaxPreps.com baseball rankings. The first and second place teams at the two district tournaments plus the next 4 highest ranked teams in MaxPreps will get together this weekend to determine the 4 teams that will advance to State at Orofino May 15-17. Prairie was ranked #5, however they got pushed down to #6 in the Super Regionals as #6 ranked North Star Charter won the southern Idaho District Tournament and is effectively the #4 seed as they will host #4 ranked Troy. #3 ranked C.V. hosts Prairie at 5 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday. If they split the first two games they will play again at 1 p.m. #1 ranked and District 2 champion Potlatch hosts #8 ranked Glenns Ferry, the second place team in the southern Idaho district tournament. #2 ranked Kendrick will host #7 ranked Genesee. State will be a full double elimination tournament this year for the 4 teams that make it there.
