Junior High athletes compete at North Idaho Invitational Prairie sent 7 junior high track athletes, 5 boys and 2 girls, to compete in the North Idaho Invitational this past Saturday in Clarkston. 13 teams and independent entries competed. Our 5 Prairie boys placed second and the 2 girls placed 6th. 2 junior high records were also broken at that meet. Marshall Weber threw the shotput 44’1” which broke the record set earlier by Anthony Forsmann. Aubree Riener broke the triple jump record with a 31’5” jump breaking Kori Pentzer’s record of 30’8” back in 2013. Each finished first in their events. Weber also placed third in the 100 in 12.47 and third in the 200 in 25.22. Riener was also second in the 800 in 2:42.03, 9th in the 200 in 30.15 and 12th in the 400 in 1:15.75. Anthony Forsmann finished first in the discus at 124’8” and was 2nd in the shot put at 42’4”. Bowen Bennett was second in the 200 hurdles in 34.21 and eighth in the 75 hurdles in 19.75. Gabe Severns was fourth in the 1600 in 5:49.52 and fourth in the discus at 116’2”. Carson Lockart was fourth in the 400 in 1:01.62 and 12th in the 200 in 28.03. The medley relay team of Lockart, Lake Bennett, Forsmann and Severns was second in 2:07.58. The 4x100 relay team of Lockart, Bowen Bennet, Lake Bennett and Forsmann was fourth in 54.13. Ayla Ratcliff was the other girl to compete and finished second in the triple jump at 25’6” and 12th in the 75 hurdles in 22.68.
