Applicants sought for Fair Royalty Idaho County Fair is seeking applicants for the 2026 royalty program. 2025 Queen Halee Rowland, First Princess Kimberly Seaver and Second Princess Bailey Key invite those interested in trying to pick up an application from the Idaho County Extension Office in the Idaho County Courthouse. Deadline to declare candidacy is June 27. Applicants need to be a sophomore, junior, or incoming senior in high school, and be involved in at least one year of 4-H, FFA, or open class fair events. Current candidates must participate in the fair this year by entering an exhibit in 4-H or open class. A barbecue for all candidates is set for July 8, 6:30 p.m., at Cottonwood City Park. Parents/guardians should attend to cover duties/expectations. Candidates will then be expected to attend the luncheon on Aug. 6, at the Cottonwood Community Hall, where interviews are conducted and speeches given. The Idaho County Fair is set for Aug. 20-23. Tuesday, Aug. 19, is rehearsal; Wednesday evening, Aug. 20, is royalty introductions; and crowning night is Friday, Aug. 22. Applications due June 27; speeches due July 25 Mail completed applications to royalty advisor Tara Connolley 21 Mt Idaho Cemetery Rd, Grangeville, ID 83530; or drop off at the Idaho County Extension Office (in the Idaho County Courthouse). Applications should include the following: Completed application form; signed Standards of Personal Conduct form; signed duties of Idaho County Fair Royalty; two letters of recommendation; two 3x5 or 4x6 colored photos to be used for publications; signed parent/guardian consent form. Royalty candidate speeches are due July 25.
