Letters to the editor from this week's Chronicle

Dear Editor,
It is sad how "TDS" (Trump Derangement Syndrome) is affecting some left-leaning individuals in America.
Last Saturday was a perfect example. Patriotic Americans were celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the United States Army and the American Flag. Those affected by "TDS" opted to rally for criminal invaders, protest against everything Trump, and burn the American flag. Why June 14? Because it was President Trump's birthday.
Pathetic!
Sincerely

Dear Editor:
I'm wondering what percentage of the American people believe that the right of free expression is held both sacred and guaranteed operative in our public media, versus those who know instead that certain factual information is regularly highly censored, if not totally withheld.  Just recently, I personally experienced proof of this within our local community.
It's quite well understood that, following most any political conflict, the victors get to write the "history" books.   Thus, when someone from the losing side attempts to relate the story from a variant perspective, such "contrary" views must be strongly discredited, if not totally barred from public access.
The information I attempted to share publicly last week had no profanity, libeled no one, nor violated the code of ethics in any other way; rather, it was merely an opinion that countered certain (politically correct) views, long promoted by a globally controlled media.
So much for freedom of speech as "guaranteed" us under our First Amendment!
Indeed, not only do the victors of war write the "history" books, but they train our educators, approve all textbooks and curricula used, control virtually all programming of radio, TV, cinema, and print media.  Even very few religious organizations escape their biased programming.
This selective truncation of truth effectively covers for the very forces that perpetrate the worst of evils, like non-stop wars, constantly rampant in the earth.
Whatever it takes to stop all persecution and unjust killing in the world, THAT, to me, is the prime commission delegated to us by Christ Jesus when saying, "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature...."  To me, unconditional brotherly love IS the gospel - - the truest interpretation of it that I can personally conceive.
Should someone say, "But you need to believe on Jesus to be saved," I believe that actively committing to the above, IS to accept Jesus' entire commission, and that it's precisely this love dedication that works out our salvation.  For it was Jesus who said, "Greater love than this, no man hath, than he who gives his life for another."
