Meet the 2025 Border Days Royalty  Queen Ariana Davidson Idaho County Free Press “I met so many new people. I loved meeting all of the little kids and being able to talk to them before the parade and rodeo,” she added. The 17-year-old Grangeville High School junior is the daughter of Zach and Brandice Petersen and Jon Davidson, all of Grangeville. She is also the granddaughter of Tony and Cindy Sabatino of Grangeville, and has one brother, Hayden Davidson, 19. Davidson is a member of the Border Days Triple Bar Drill Team where she is a leader, as well as the Cottonwood Riding Club. She is also a member of the Rough Riders 4-H Club. See her riding either of her quarter horses: Fantasia, 13, or Socrates, 4. When she isn’t busy with school and representing Border Days, she is employed by Diamond B Quarter Horses and Mules. Davidson said she is an animal lover who has chickens, dogs, cats, fish and beehives. Prior to becoming Border Days queen, Davidson served as the 2023 White Bird Rodeo Queen. Last year, when trying out for queen, Davidson said, “I love seeing little girls look up smiling, saying that they want to be a rodeo queen one day, too. I was just like them when I was younger, and I wish to inspire them to chase their dreams.” When she graduates from high school, she plans to go on to Lewis-Clark State College and study to become a radiologic technologist. She plans to continue to share her knowledge and love of horses in the future. Gortsema Motors, Les Schwab Tire Center and the Border Days Committee sponsor Border Days royalty. 
Princess Reece Barnard By Lorie Palmer “The whole year has been so much fun!” smiled Border Days 2025 Princess Reece Barnard.Idaho County Free Press 18-year-old Barnard, of Nezperce, is the daughter of Jessie Blankenship of Nezperce and Leonard Blankenship of Grangeville. She has three siblings: Bo Marek, 27; Ashton Beeson, 21; and Lara Barnard, 16. Barnard is homeschooled. She has been a member of the Border Days Triple Bar Drill Team for eight years and the Central Idaho Rodeo Association for three years. Her partner in these events is Lefty, a 5-year-old quarter horse. Barnard enjoys sports and has participated in volleyball, basketball and track at Nezperce High School. Prior to being Border Days princess, she was Riggins Rodeo princess in 2021-2022. Trying out last year, she said, “Being a role model to me is more than the crown and fancy chaps. It’s about spreading the word about rodeos; how fun, special and amazing the sport is.” She said she especially had fun this year taking royalty photos and participating in the Riggins Rodeo. Following this year, Barnard said she would like to look into equine massage. She enjoys rodeoing, camping, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
