Christmas in July at the Library
With July’s hot weather arrives a cool event – a Christmas in July Party and Open House! Hosted by Cottonwood’s Prairie Community Library as part of their 4-part 40th anniversary celebrations, the event is Tuesday July 22nd from 10 am to 3 pm. Featured at 10:30 am there will be a holiday themed Book Walk around the bookshelves for kids and adults with chances to win prizes during the musical walk.
Running all day will be an Ornament Swap for attendees to bring in an ornament and take a different one home from the tree. Also, hanging on the tree will be Giving Tags which guests can select one or more tags to then later gift the library with a suggested office need. Other offerings include Christmas cookies, holiday themed door prizes, raffles, library tours and a head start toward Christmas.
The library has been an all donor-funded and volunteer-staffed library for forty years. Only a handful of such non-tax based libraries exist in Idaho. Early Christmas shopping opportunities will be available with a $1 donation per book for almost new condition books. Lots of large coffee table titles are included, many of them art books.
The Prairie Community Library is in the air-conditioned lower level of City Hall at 506 King Street, Cottonwood. Ramp access is from the alley side of the building.  For more information contact the library, 208 962-3714, or Frances at 208 962-3647.
