Concert in the Park set for Aug. 12
Make plans to attend a picnic and free concert in Cottonwood’s City
Park Tuesday evening August 12th at 6 pm. Returning from last
summer’s popular park concert will be the Prairie Community Concert
Band under the direction of retired music teacher Mr. John Eynon.
Comprised of community members from around the prairie, the band will
be playing a mix of marches as well as popular and classical pieces.
Something for everyone to enjoy music in an outdoor setting. A picnic dinner of pulled pork sandwiches with homemade rolls and coleslaw will be available for purchase. The cost will be about $7. Dessert and beverages can be purchased separately. Proceeds will benefit the Prairie Community Library who is hosting this final event celebrating the library's 40th anniversary. Relying entirely on volunteer staffing and donor funding, it is one of very few such independent libraries in all of Idaho. During intermission, library raffle prizes and summer reading program winners will be announced. Door prizes will be randomly given away as well . The last chance to purchase $1 raffle tickets will be at the park before the concert begins. Two raffles are offered: an adult prize basket of books valued at $150 and a kid’s prize containing a Yoto player with full accessories valued at $175. Until the concert, tickets can be purchased at the library or call 208 962-3714. Need not be present to win. Bring lawn chairs or blankets and your own picnic or plan to purchase one at the park. Enjoy a musical summer evening in a family friendly environment in the shady park. Please no dogs. Cottonwood’s City Park is located at 1701 King Street.
The next and final 40th anniversary event for Prairie Community Library will be a concert in the park at the Pavilion, pictured above, on Tuesday, August 12 at 6 p.m. |
