19 turn out for PHS Football There are 19 players turned out for Prairie football this season led by 4 seniors. The 4 seniors are Kade Quintal, who returns at quarterback, Lane Mader an offensive lineman and linebacker of defense; Payton Stamper, a running back/defensive back and Ashton Martin, an offensive lineman and defensive linebacker. There are only 2 juniors on the team. They are Trajan Elven and Zachary Schumacher. Sophomores are Cooper Riener, Marshall Weber, Tate Uhlenkott, Sam Rehder, Bucky Harman, Isaiah Warren, Anthony Forsmann, Carson Lockart and John Seubert, a St. John Bosco student. Freshmen are Rowan Elven, Hank Harman, Bowen Bennett and Corbyn Tacke. Ryan Hasselstrom returns as head coach with Matt Elven and Teel Bruner as assistants. The league has shrunk this year with only 5 teams remaining after Logos moved up to 11-man while Kendrick and Troy dropped to the 1A division. Only Kendrick changed due to enrollment numbers. Troy dropped due to competition. That leaves Kamiah, Potlatch, C.V. and Lapwai as league opponents for the Pirates. Potlatch and C.V. will have new head coaches. The Pirates see their first action of the season this Friday in a non-league game at Troy at 7 p.m.     Several photos from Monday's practice.
