Reaction to float, tea party among favorite events
“I loved hearing all the excitement of the crowd about our float,” smiled Ellie Kouril of the royalty’s Toy Story themed “You’ve Got a Friend at the Idaho County Fair” float.
The Grangeville High School senior is the 2026 Idaho County Fair Queen.
“I also loved hosting the princess tea party and sharing the royalty experience with all the little princesses and princes,” she said of her royalty reign.
Kouril, 17, is the daughter of Monica Walker of Grangeville and Jim Kouril of Meridian. She is the granddaughter of the late Butch and Dorothy Walker of Grangeville. She is the youngest of three girls: sister Hailey Uhlenkott is 28 and sister Danielle Uhlenkott is 24.
At school, Kouril is active in FFA, BPA, HOSA, Youth in Government and student council. She will serve as senior class president this coming school year. She has also played basketball and tennis and participated in cheerleading.
She has also been a longtime Girl Scout. In her spare time, she is a server at the Brickhouse restaurant, and she has her own business, “Ever by Ellie” (permanent jewelry).
Following graduation, Kouril plans to attend college and pursue a career in business and marketing.
 
1st Princess Mikayla Rowland
‘A truly one-of-a-kind experience’
“Being able to give back as a member of the royalty court has been both an honor and a privilege,” Mikayla Rowland stated.
For Rowland, serving as the 2026 Idaho County Fair First Princess is an opportunity to give back to an event that has played a major role in her life.
The 16-year-old Cottonwood resident and Prairie High School junior has been involved in 4-H for a decade through the Cottonwood Saddliers & Livestock 4-H Club, where she currently serves as a teen leader. Her involvement extends well beyond the local level, including service as an Idaho County Ambassador, membership on the Idaho County Fashion Board and participation on the Idaho State 4-H ILEAD Summit Steering Committee. Earlier this year, she and her sister co-presented a workshop at the National 4-H Ignite Summit in Washington, D.C.
Rowland, the daughter of Brent and Tara Rowland, is also active in school athletics and activities, competing in volleyball, varsity wrestling and varsity softball while participating in BPA, Knowledge Bowl and Prairie League. Rowland has two sisters, Chloe (21) and Halee (17), who also served as fair royalty. Her grandparents include Dennis and Helen Rowland of Cottonwood.
As a member of the fair royalty court, some of her favorite experiences have included the royalty photoshoot, the Princess Tea Party and volunteering at the YWCA Purse Auction.
After graduation, Rowland plans to attend the University of Idaho and pursue a degree in biological engineering. She hopes to use her interests in science and math to solve real-world problems and improve lives.
“Serving as Idaho County Fair Royalty has been a truly one-of-a-kind experience. Growing up, I spent months preparing for the fair each year with my family, and fair week was always the highlight of my summer,” she said. “The lessons, memories, and opportunities I gained through the fair have helped shape me into the person I am today, and I am incredibly grateful for the place, programs, and people who made those experiences possible.”
2nd Princess Molly Fowler
Active in school, community
Prairie High School junior Molly Fowler is the 2026 Idaho County Fair Second Princess.
The 16-year-old is the daughter of Bo and Ammerae Fowler of Cottonwood and has four older siblings: Bethani, 23; Isaiah, 22; Meghan, 20; and Brehanna, 19.
She is a member of the Keuterville Livestock 4-H Club and is active in her church youth group and as a volunteer for VBS. At school, she is a cheerleader, plays volleyball and participates in track and field. She Is also a member of Prairie League.
One of her most memorable moments of her reign?
“When a giant bug went down my dress before we were about to go in a parade, and my sister had to rescue me,” she laughed.
She hasn’t yet decided what to do after graduation, but she hopes to pursue a career in the animal field.
