Fair is this week
The 2025 Idaho County Fair officially got underway Wednesday, August 20 with the ribbon cutting ceremony. The 4-H Dog Show and the 4-H Rabbit Show both start at 9:30 a.m. in the Agee Livestock Pavilion. Entering of 4-H Consumer Science and 4-H Specialty projects will run from 9 to 11 a.m. Open Class exhibits can be entered from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Open Class Building. Judging of 4-H exhibits will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The 4-H Poultry show will start at 1 p.m. in the Agee Pavilion. Judging of Open Class Exhibits will take place from 1 to 6 p.m. During that time the Open Class Building will be closed to the public. The Pigtail Contest will start in the Schmidt building at 1:30 p.m. Please arrive early to get measurements taken. Entering and weighing in of livestock will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. The 4-H Fashion Show will be held starting at 7 p.m. in the Schmidt Building. 4-H Science and Specialty Project awards will be given out once the fashion show is done. On Thursday, August 21, things get started with the 4-H and FFA Fitting and Showing Livestock Contest which starts at 8:30 a.m. with beef and swine. Sheep and goats will be held starting at 1 p..m. with the Round Robin championship set for 4 p.m. At 1 p.m. the Old Time Fiddlers will be performing in the Gazebo. From 7 to 8:30 p.m. the Third Annual 4-H Animal Costume Contest will take place in the Agee Pavilion. On Friday, August 22 the 4-H and FFA Livestock Judging Contest starts at 8 a.m. Beef and swine quality judging starts at 9:30 a.m. The sheep and goats quality judging will start at 1 p.m. At 6:30 p.m. the Royalty evening will start and concludes with the crowning of the 2026 Idaho County Fair Royalty. At 7 p.m. B-Sides will be providing music in the gazebo. The 4-H Green Swing Dance will start in the Agee Pavilion once the Royalty crowning has concluded. On Saturday, August 23 the Idaho County Fair Parade will start at 10 a.m. on Main Street in Cottonwood. The 4-H livestock awards will be handed out starting at noon in the Livestock Pavilion. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Idaho/Lewis County Cattle Association Beef Barbecue will be held. At 1 p.m. the 4-H Market Livestock Sale will start in the Agee Pavilion. From 1 to 3 p.m. Laurie Drake will put on a spinning demonstration. All spinners are invite to bring their wheels and join in. At 3:30 p.m. the exhibit building will be closed and from 4 to 5 p.m. exhibits can be checked out. |
