24 turn out for PHS volleyball There are 24 girls turned out for Prairie’s volleyball team this year. They will be under the guidance of a new coach, Alicia Hagen. Madison Shears returns as the JV coach. There are 12 players listed on the varsity led by seniors Kylie Schumacher, Sierra Oliver and Avery Riener. Juniors on the team this year are Kylee Riggers and Kennedy Riener. Sophomores are Zoey Behler, Mia Anderson and Beka Schumacher. Freshmen are Bekah Shears, Tori Shears, Harlee Hansen and Capri Hagen. Bekah Shears and Behler will be swing players as they will also get JV playing time. There are 3 juniors on the JV team. They are Audrey Warren, a transfer from Nezperce, Erica Schlader and Halee Rowland. There are 9 sophomores on the JV squad. In addition to Behler they are Macie Uhlenkott, Mikayla Rowland, Kenly Forsmann, Faith Cash, Alli Rambo, Blake Uhlenkott, Grace Kaschmitter and Molly Fowler. There are 2 freshmen on the JV: Tinley Hibbard and Bekah Shears. Prairie looks to be in a rebuilding year with the loss of 4 senior starters from last year. They also won’t have starters from last year and current seniors Hailey Hanson and Sydney Shears, who decided not to take volleyball this year and current junior Nadia Cash who is out for the season with a knee injury. Prairie hosted a Jamboree last Tuesday. Their first regular season match is at Logos on Thursday, Aug. 28.
