Cross Country at Troy Invite
Only half of the team competed at the Troy Invitational Cross Country meet Thursday, August 28.
Three of the seven girls and four of the seven boys ran in the race.
Prairie’s top finisher of the day was Sydney Shears who took second in the girls 5000 meter race with a time of 22:33.08. Evelyn Gehring just missed the top 10 as she placed 11^th in 27:34.50. Lillianne Lustig placed 27^th in 33:48.59.
For the boys the top finisher was Chase VonBargen who placed 15^th in 21:44.81. Right behind him was Matthew Jones who placed 16^th in 21:45.34. Kade Hansen was 33^rd in 25:54.38 and Gabe DeCaria was 39^th in 29:14.61.
The next meet is the Moose Creek Invitational hosted by Deary near Bovill on Wednesday, Sept. 3. The high school girls race starts at 4:45 p.m. followed by the boys race at about 5:30 p.m.
On Saturday they will travel to Farragut State Park north of Coeur d’Alene for the Timberlake Farragut Invite. That meet starts at 9 a.m.
