Shears finishes 8th at Seaport Invite
Sydney Shears placed 8th and earned a ribbon for finishing in the top 10 at the Seaport Invite Cross Country meet at Clarkston Wednesday, Sept. 10.
Shears’ time was 22:11.36.
Also for the girls team Evelyn Gehring placed 21st in 25:49.95. Callie Remacle was 37th in 28:46.68. Aubree Riener was 46th in 31:51.63. Lillianne Lustig was 52nd in 32:49.98 and Bella Musick was 59th in 38:48.82.
As a team the girls placed 6th with 116 points.
The boys team was missing a couple of runners due to illness and injury.
They started the race with 4 runners but only 3 were able to finish. Matthew Jones was the top finisher in 57th place with a time of 22:04.55. Gabe DeCaria was 111thin 28:12.21. Landon Riener was 120th in 30:16.51. Kade Hansen started the race but had to drop out due to injury.
In the junior high boys race Koyle Jones was Prairie’s top finisher of the day as he placed 6th in 9:19.06. Right behind him was Cameron McLeod in 7th in 9:19.79. Eli Duman placed 61st in 11:48.12 and Isaac Riener was 95th in 14:10.13. Aiden DeLorenze should be somewhere between Duman and Riener but was not listed in the results.
For the girls Madalynn Von Bargen was Prairie’s only junior high runner. She placed 45h in 12:29.78.
There are two meets this week. The first is Thursday, Sept. 18 at the Kamiah Invitational. This is at the Fish Hatchery with the junior high girls starting at 4 p.m. The boys are at 4:30. The high school girls start at 5 p.m. and the high school boys at 5:45 p.m.
The other meet is the Eagle Island Invite at Eagle Island State Park near Eagle, Idaho.
