District Volleyball starts Saturday

District volleyball tournaments start this Saturday, Oct. 18 for Prairie and St. John Bosco.

Prairie at District

The Lady Pirates will start District play this Saturday, Oct. 18 at Genesee High School.
Originally the first couple of rounds were to be at the top two seeds but there weren’t enough officials available to staff two sites.
They are the #6 seed and will play #3 seeded Kamiah at 2 p.m.
Troy is #1, Potlatch is #2, Kamiah is #3, Lapwai is #4, Logos is #5, Prairie is #6, Kendrick is #7 and C.V. is #8.
#1 plays #8 at 9 a.m. Saturday with the #4 vs. #5 match at 10:30. The #3 vs. #6 is at 2 p.m. and the #2 vs. #7 is at 3:30 p.m. The top half of the bracket loser out match will be at noon and the bottom half loser out will be at 5 p.m.
After the 6 matches on Saturday the scene shifts to the LCSC Activity Center for the rest of the tournament. On Monday, Oct. 20, the two championship round matches will be played at 4:30 with Saturday’s loser out survivors playing the 4:30 p.m. losers at 7:30 p.m.
On Wednesday, Oct. 22 the late game winners from Monday will play at 6 p.m. followed by the championship match at 7:30.
The championship game loser will play the loser out survivor on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. for second place and a trip to State.

St. John Bosco at District

The Lady Patriots will open District play Saturday, Oct. 18 as the #5 seed. They will play #4 seed Deary at 10 a.m. at Lewiston High School. #6 seed Highland will play the #3 seed at the same time.
The 1, 2 and 3 seeds were undecided at press time as Genesee, Nezperce and Timberline all split with each other.
If Bosco wins they would play again at noon against the #1 seed. The winner of that game plays again at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20 at LCSC. The loser plays in a loser out game at 2 p.m.
If they lose they would play at 2 p.m. in a loser out game. If they should win that game they would play again at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20 at LCSC.
The tournament continues on Wednesday, Oct. 22 and Thursday, Oct. 23.
Only 1 team advances to state this year.
