We’re hoping to fill in some missing titles of the Nancy Drew Mystery books that are enjoying a resurgence of popularity. Perhaps someone is seeking a home for their collection of Nancy Drew books. We’re particularly interested in accepting donations of the following volumes: Book #26 Clue of the Leaning Chimney; Book #32 Scarlet Slipper Mystery; Books #35, 36, 38; Book #40 Moonstone Castle Mystery; Book #45 Spider Sapphire Mystery; Book #46 The Invisible Intruder; and book #s 49-53. Joan has reviewed the 1941 book, No Life For a Lady, by Agnes Morley Cleaveland. “This is a great recounting of some of the early days in New Mexico.” In this memoir, Ms. Cleaveland related how her family settled a part of north central New Mexico during the late 1870s, and anecdotes about their ranch life into the 1930s. The author shared her memories of the days of the open ranges before ranchers began fencing their properties, and she added accounts of the typical chores and tending of livestock on a western ranch. Ms. Cleaveland also portrayed some encounters with indigenous wildlife, including grizzly bears. Getting back to Pat G., she recommends Trail Boss by Peter Dawson, Dead Man’s Canyon by Ralph Cotton, and John Stone And the Choctaw Kid by Wayne Davis. On Sunday 2 November, we see the end of daylight saving time for this year; Tuesday 4 November is Election Day in the United States; Wednesday 5 November is full moon.
