to the editor from this week's Chronicle To the Editor As I See It The U S is forecast to
import 4.23 billion pounds of beef in 2025. There are over 40
countries that have a licenses to export beef into the US, including
Namibia in Africa, and 4 others that have foot and mouth disease. There are only two countries that produce prime rib, United States and Canada. The rest of the country’s export the lowest quality of beef in the world. In 2024 Canada exported 359.6 million pounds of beef into the US. Australia, who is famous for the beef-kangaroo mixture, exported into the US 300.1 million pounds in 2024. JBS is the world’s largest meat packer and has 500 plants in 40 countries. JBS is the largest meat packer in the US. JBS is located in Brazil and is known as the most corrupt corporation in the history of the world. JBS has spent billions of dollars buying off politicians around the world, including members of the US Congress. A Brazilian family owns JBS and is known as the worst of the worst. In 2024 JBS shipped 284.8 million pounds of beef into the US and their one main customer was McDonalds. People buy their meat and have no idea where it comes from because the crooked politicians have sold out to the 4 major packers, JBS, Tyson Foods, Cargill and National Beef Packing Company. We have no “Country of Origin Labeling”. COOL Gary Willson Reubens Dear Editor: Considering the main thrust of this letter, I wish to state first that I strongly commend and support the current initiative taken by Larry Dunn and associates to have Islamic Sharia law legislatively banned throughout Idaho. Let there be no doubt about that. However, I've long been concerned about a separate threat to our people, to our state and entire nation that is at least as equally serious: a communist/CIA/Israeli Mossad one. If a Muslim ideological takeover of Idaho's affairs under the dreaded Sharia law is seen as dangerous - - and indeed it is - - shouldn't any other foreign, ideological intrusion likewise be? To cite an example, how many Idahoans are aware that in its 2021 session, the Idaho legislature passed Senate bill 1086, the Anti-Boycott Israel Act? The bill's description states that it "adds to existing law, to prohibit a public entity from entering into certain contracts with companies that boycott Israel." And at the federal level, to give another example, in 2023 congress passed HB 6090, the "Antisemitism Awareness Act. Do these sound like your legislator's constitutional job....or even his or her right to so enact?! (And does the cry of "anti-semitism, anti-semitism, anti-semitism" sound familiar to anyone?) I'm here reminded of the oft-repeated saying, "To know who principally rules over you, consider who it is that you're not allowed to criticize." Whether originating with French philosopher Voltaire or not, it seems to me the saying rings plenty true. While it's sadly true that in certain parts of the world resistance to the Koran brings severe punishment, it's so farno where near as universal as is failure to support political Israel. So, as a good start, Idaho, let's look into and REPEAL Senate Bill 1086! Thank you. Carol Asher Kamiah
