Uhling dies in accident
James Raymond Uhling, age 45, of Cottonwood died Monday, June 7 at 10:42 a.m. in a one-vehicle accident near Culdesac.
Uhling, owner of JRU Well Drilling was driving his well drilling rig north on U.S. 95 less than a mile south of Culdesac when his front right tire blew out. This caused the truck to swerve to the right side of the road. The vehicle then went through the guardrail, went through three-quarters of a roll and came to rest on the left side in the creek. Uhling was trapped under the wreckage.
Investigating officer was Trooper Youngren of the Idaho State Police with assistance from the Tribal Police, Tribal Water Resources, Idaho Dept. of Transportation, the Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office and Sgt. Oswald and Troopers Robnett, Baldwin, Larsen, Kitchen and Murphy of the ISP.
