Youth help with Angel Tree project
The St. Mary’s Hospital Food Bank and Angel Tree Project involved the help of many young people in the area.
“We simply couldn’t have served so many families with children without the willing help of so many students and young people from area schools,” said Sr. Barbara Jean Glodowski, SMHC Mission Integration Director.  “Their generosity is really appreciated.”
According to Sr. Barbara Jean, Prairie Middle School students held a food drive and delivered a pick up load of food and Kim Schumacher’s fourth grade class at Prairie Elementary earned canned foods by doing chores at home which were then donated to SMHC.
“The Prairie High School business club delivered ten boxes of oranges and the elementary school in Craigmont sponsored a toy drive with half the toys being donated to our program and half to another community drive,” said Sr. Barbara Jean.  “Much of the food was distributed in the 34 holiday food baskets to needy families and the rest was used to restock our Food Bank.”
“It is so heartwarming to see so many kids willing to help.  They’ve got a lot to be proud of and we’d like to thank each and every one of them.”
